Paddle the Kish
This special project works to clear the Kishwaukee River of natural and human made debris from the river in order to create a passable water trail through McHenry County for paddling recreation.
Accomplishments
Volunteers of Paddle the Kish, a group that was formed in 2018, has cleared four miles of water trail and was recently brought under the umbrella of The Defenders as fiscal sponsor.
Goals
To clear 10 miles of water trail in order to bring more kayaking adventures to the Kishwaukee river in partnership with The Environmental Defenders and to instill a sense of attachment to the river so that people help the river stay healthy.
