Why become a member?
The Environmental Defenders of McHenry County is a membership-based organization. As an Environmental Defender, you make a real difference in our community. When you become a member, you join hundreds of dedicated community members working together to preserve, protect and educate McHenry County. As a Defender, you become part of a community filled with positive, meaningful actions like cleaning up our rivers, offering local food scrap compost opportunities, and recycling hard-to-recycle items. Your membership directly powers local environmental projects, community education, and volunteer action every day.
Your membership is important because when you join the Defenders, you become part of our growing legacy to create a better place for future generations. When the Defenders clean up our local rivers, it is for all our neighbors to have safe drinking water for years to come. It is for the native wildlife, insects, and fish to thrive in their natural habitat. It is for the locals who call McHenry County home.
Our members are dedicated community leaders, trusted stewards of the environment, and passionate climate advocates. Together, our members are part of a collective effort to build a cleaner, greener, and more resilient McHenry County.
Join our mission today. Be part of a community making a difference.
