Zero Waste Schools McHenry County
A partnership of Seven Generations Ahead, a Chicago-based non-profit and The Defenders to “adopt” schools in McHenry County and educate students and staff on the Zero-Waste Lunch Kit program.
Accomplishments
Two schools in McHenry County have been adopted to date with a third to be decided on soon.
Goals
To help schools implement real change in their cafeterias through waste reduction by diverstying compostable and recyclable items from landfill destinations to composting and recycling.
