Volunteer for Styrofoam Recycling

We need volunteers!

We had an overwhelmingly positive response when The Styrofoam Recycling Program was announced to return to McHenry County. We successfully surpassed our fundraising goal of $7,500, and our kick-off event had almost 300 families recycling Styrofoam in Crystal Lake. It’s clear to us that there is a need for this recycling resource in the community.

But we still need your help. We need volunteers to help run the Styrofoam Recycling Program. The Environmental Defenders is a volunteer-based organization and we rely on dedicated community members to volunteer for events like the Styrofoam Recycling Program. Whether you sign up for one shift or multiple shifts, we need your support!

As a Styrofoam volunteer, you will be tasked with sorting and bagging Styrofoam. New volunteers are always welcome and we will walk-through volunteer responsibilities on your first shift.
