What we recycle
Styrofoam
All #6 Styrofoam accepted. Real #6 will always “CRACK” and “BREAK” when bent!
All Styrofoam must be CLEAN and no tape, labels, glue, food, etc.
Colored Styrofoam
Commercial and food grade, ie: egg cartons, food trays, coffee cups, etc.
Must be CLEAN! No labels, food residue or grease
Packing Peanuts
Styrofoam peanuts will also “CRACK” and “BREAK”
Must be bagged and placed in receptacle
Beige or sponge peanuts are made of cornstarch. They will dissolve in water. Do not mix them with the Styrofoam peanuts
Not accepted and not recyclable
Construction foam: pink, blue, purple or blown-in due to fireproof ingredients
“Sponge” foam sheeting, blocks, sheets, pool noodles, etc.
Bubble wrap and air packs (these can be dropped off at the store in the plastic bag recycling bins)
Beige packing peanuts (these can be dissolved in water at home, added to your compost bin or thrown in your garbage)
Please help our recycling program by only dropping off acceptable Styrofoam!
