Urban Agroforestry
Presented by: Stephanie Tesmer
In this presentation, we will explore how urban agroforestry – integrating trees, perennial plants, and annual beds into urban landscapes – can enhance food security, boost biodiversity, and improve urban microclimates. We will discuss how transforming basic lawns, into productive green spaces can create local food resilience and boost community well-being. At the end you will see how we put all of this into practice on our suburban 1/3 of an acre site near McHenry.
Stephanie is an Environmental Scientist who spends her days caring for her food forest and advocating for her community’s environmental needs.
