Energy Savings During the Illinois Solar Revolution

Our Water & Natural Resources Protection Action Team and the McHenry County Department of Planning and Development invite you to attend this second event in a series of Friday BMP Talks and Tours that showcase some of the exciting Best Management Practices (BMPs) being implemented in McHenry County.

Friday, May 13, 1-3 pm
McHenry County College Shah Center
4100 West Shamrock Lane, McHenry, IL

In 2021, Governor Pritzker signed the Climate and Equitable Jobs Act (CEJA), the most ambitious energy law in the history of the State. Hal Sprague, with Trajectory Energy Partners, will summarize the parts of the law that give municipalities, businesses, non-profits and schools a terrific opportunity to participate in the solar revolution by hosting their own solar projects essentially for free.

Following Hal’s talk, Kim Hankins, McHenry County College Sustainability Director and Defenders Board President, will provide a tour of the solar installation at the Shah Center, explaining its history and production. Refreshments will be served.

To register for the May 13 event and be added to the email list for this series, please fill out the form at https://forms.gle/v76WMZGGvjtXKmcy5

You will also find a link there to the schedule of all the Talks and Tours in this series.
