| Styrofoam Recycling | Time commitment: about 4 hours each month We need help in 2 positions: A. Sorting/Bagging Remove trash from bags, Remove tape and stickers, Break down Styrofoam into smaller pieces for transport, Prepare bags for Wednesday morning pick up, Two Available Shifts each week: 1.) Tuesday afternoons/evenings 2.) Fridays/weekends. B. Collection/driving Collect prepared bags from 3 sites (Woodstock, Algonquin and Crystal Lake) using a 26-foot U-Haul truck, Transport to warehouse in Elgin, Wednesday during the day, about 4 hours. Other Weekdays are also possible, but are the exception, rather than the rule, Work in teams of 2. |

The work of the Environmental Defenders is successful thanks to the passion and dedication to environmental stewardship of our many volunteers. You can become a member of this vital work that recognizes the important link between a healthier environment and human commitment to the causes that protect and preserve our corner of the planet.
