Stand Up for the Fox
Calling all Stand Up Paddlers! This is a float for Stand Up Paddle boarders only. We’re coming together to Stand Up for The Fox to bring attention to its wild spaces and important place in our watershed. Meet and park at Carpentersville Dam parking area at 2:30PM. A complimentary shuttle will bring paddlers and SUPs to Cornish Park, up river, where we’ll put in about 3PM. Stand up proud for the short trip back to the dam! Bring your SUP, paddle, water, and personal flotation device (PFD.)

Boone Creek Clean Up
To celebrate IOFRD, the Defenders Water & Natural Resources Protection Action Team is hosting a cleanup on Boone Creek, a Fox River tributary that runs through the City of McHenry. This cleanup will be held Saturday, September 17 from 9 to 11 am. Volunteers are asked to wear work clothes, gloves, and boots and to park in the Public Works parking lot at 1415 Industrial Dr in McHenry, located behind the Jewel grocery store. All necessary equipment as well as snacks will be provided. Please bring your own water.
