DESCRIPTION:Sunday\, September 24  \nMeet at Towne Park\, Algonquin for RT ride \n1PM \nJoin the Environmental Defenders’ Transportation Action Team on a scenic bike ride Sunday\, September 24 starting at Towne Park\, Algonquin at 1PM\, and looping through Lake in the Hills and Crystal Lake before returning to Algonquin for a taste of local beer at Scorched Earth Brewery. The route\, including the relatively new Randall Road underpass\, is 15 miles long\, but shorter (7\, 8\, 11 mile) options are possible along portions of the loop.

SUMMARY:The Environmental Defenders' Annual Bike Ride
DESCRIPTION:Sunday\, September 18 (Rain date: Sunday\, September 25) \nMeet at Towne Park\, Algonquin for RT ride \n1PM \n  \nJoin the Environmental Defenders’ Transportation Action Team as they cruise from Towne Park in Algonquin to East Dundee for a taste of local beer at Black and Gray Brewing. This roundtrip is about 12 miles of mostly easy\, flat terrain and includes the Prairie Trail in McHenry County and the Fox River Trail in Kane. On the way\, Defenders’ executive director will talk about points of interest\, including the milelong stretch of trail that has been adopted by our organization through the McHenry County Conservation District’s Adopt-a-Trail program as well as a bald eagle nesting area. Upon return we’ll have a look at new construction on Main Street Algonquin and future plans for a River Walk.
