On Tuesday\, April 11\, The Illinois Environmental Council (IEC) and the Environmental Defenders of McHenry County are hosting an event focused on conservation efforts in the county and across the state. We’ll present information about the Illinois is Beautiful Coalition and Campaign that aims to support President Biden’s America the Beautiful goals\, which are to protect and conserve 30% of land\, water\, and ocean by 2030. IEC will also share updates about the conservation and open space issues that IEC and our partners are working on at the state capitol and beyond. We’re excited to hear from attendees about their perspectives.\n\nThe event will be held at MCC’s Shah Center located at 4100 W Shamrock Lane in McHenry from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. Refreshments will be served. SUMMARY:Best Management Practices: Energy Savings During the Illinois Solar Revolution
DESCRIPTION:Energy Savings During the Illinois Solar Revolution  \nOur Water & Natural Resources Protection Action Team and the McHenry County Department of Planning and Development invite you to attend this second event in a series of Friday BMP Talks and Tours that showcase some of the exciting Best Management Practices (BMPs) being implemented in McHenry County. \nFriday\, May 13\, 1-3 pm\nMcHenry County College Shah Center\n4100 West Shamrock Lane\, McHenry\, IL \nIn 2021\, Governor Pritzker signed the Climate and Equitable Jobs Act (CEJA)\, the most ambitious energy law in the history of the State. Hal Sprague\, with Trajectory Energy Partners\, will summarize the parts of the law that give municipalities\, businesses\, non-profits and schools a terrific opportunity to participate in the solar revolution by hosting their own solar projects essentially for free. \nFollowing Hal’s talk\, Kim Hankins\, McHenry County College Sustainability Director and Defenders Board President\, will provide a tour of the solar installation at the Shah Center\, explaining its history and production.
