Conversacion de Conservacion
A collaborative effort by groups that meet and plan special programs offered to our Latino community in McHenry County, including The Environmental Defenders, The Land Conservancy, McHenry County Conservation District, Friends of Hackmatack National Wildlife Refuge, Youth & Family Center of McHenry County and Hispanic Connections Woodstock.
Accomplishments
We have observed Latino Conservation week each summer for the past three years; offered in the past three years, bi-lingual outdoor activities, such as picnicking and a conservation bus tour and have offered scholarships and internships to Latino students.
Goals
To offer more programs and collaborations annually for and with the Latino community in order to better connect and understand environmental concerns.
