DESCRIPTION:Topics To Discuss: \nJoin local Deer Park resident Peter Gorr as he presents “Powering Your Home with the Sun”. This thirty minute non-technical presentation covers the basics of converting your electric supply to solar generated energy. Whether you own a home or condo or rent\, if you pay an electric bill there is something for you in this presentation that will save you money and show you how to move to a clean renewable energy source for your electricity. \nThe presentation will cover the basics of residential solar energy systems as well as the installation process\, current state and federal financial incentives\, and how to get started. Also included is a review of a new program available to residents called Community Solar. This program is available to any rate payer in Illinois. It is simple as it is a subscription program that doesn’t require the purchase or installation of equipment and saves money. \nAbout the speaker: \nPeter Gorr lives in Deer Park and is an elected member of the IL Solar Education Association Board of Directors and a member of their Solar Ambassador network. He first installed a Solar Energy system on his Palatine home in 2011 and repeated this when he moved to Deer Park in 2016.
