Meet at Towne Park, Algonquin for RT ride

Join the Environmental Defenders’ Transportation Action Team as they cruise from Towne Park in Algonquin to East Dundee for a taste of local beer at Black and Gray Brewing. This roundtrip is about 12 miles of mostly easy, flat terrain and includes the Prairie Trail in McHenry County and the Fox River Trail in Kane. On the way, Defenders’ executive director will talk about points of interest, including the milelong stretch of trail that has been adopted by our organization through the McHenry County Conservation District’s Adopt-a-Trail program as well as a bald eagle nesting area. Upon return we’ll have a look at new construction on Main Street Algonquin and future plans for a River Walk.
