(Solid Waste Agency of Lake County)
hosts several area
Household Chemical Waste events during the spring, summer and fall. Mobile HCW collections
sponsored by SWALCO are for all Illinois residents. You
do not need to be a resident of the community where the collection
takes place in order to participate. All mobile events are
held on Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., unless otherwise
noted.

Products and Electronics Collection and Training Center

(From the Kennedy Expressway, take the Division Street (east)
exit)
Hours: Tues. 7 am - noon, Thursdays 2 pm - 7 pm, and the
1st Saturday of each month, from 8 am - 3 pm.
This long-term HHW program is the result of an intergovernmental
agreement between the Illinois EPA and the City of Chicago's
Dept. of the Environment. This facility accepts batteries,
electronics, household chemicals, and old medicines.

Lake County: |
The
Solid Waste Agency of Lake County (SWALCO) currently operates a
long-term household chemical waste collection program for Lake
County residents.
